History

The Pampered Paws Inn truly reflects the spirit of old and new combined. The home was built in the early 1900's by Bernard Thompson, and just a couple doors down lives his daughter, Mrs. Olive Romans, one of Hammonds Plains oldest residents. Mrs.Olive Romans was born in the home on August 4, 1910 by a midwife and lived there with her ten brothers and sisters.

It remained a private home until 2004 when it was restored and an addition was added and converted into a wonderful inn for people and their pets. The original floors have been refinished, as has most of the original woodwork in the front part of the home.

There are 3 guest bedrooms using two separate bath/toilet areas. Two of the bedrooms have double beds and one a queen bed. All are unique and beautifully furnished with brass beds and, of course, cosy blankets for your pet(s). Each guest room is filled with bright decor and colour themes with quaint names like "The Blue Dog House", "The Red Rover" and the "Pampered Pooch" Room.

There is a fireplace in the common area for those cooler evenings. Rates include a full hot breakfast of your choice, and we even have a menu you can order from for your dog.

We hold Brunches for charities every so often and extra funds raised from these go to help the local animal shelters.

The Inn is a great place for dogs (people as well). The Dogs have their own little get together. There is a big fenced backyard to romp in, one for the big dogs and one for the little dogs. We treat the dog the same as you would at home. Take them with you, or leave them in the Daycare Area. The dedicated dog handler will get them out when they need to 'go."
